I bring a camera with me and take my own pictures. It's really easy to do since I have a camera on my smart phone. So I've built up my own library of a lot of pictures which I can use with no concern for other peoples copyright and it's been fairly easy to do. In addition, if I need something else I find that I can often create something in photoshop.

In addition to the ideas already mentioned, I sometimes use free stock photo websites such as stock.xchng - the leading free stock photography site Be sure to check the usage options for images you want to use, however.

You have to pay for the pics, but fotolia has some really good stock photos. Maybe too much money for a post, but you can get some good photos for your header. Royalty Free Stock Photos at Fotolia.com |

I take all of the pictures that I use on my blog. Since I blog about my hobbies, I just take my camera when I go do something and take pictures. By taking all of my own pictures, I do not have to worry about copyright issues, and I own all of the content on my blog. |

You might like the Photodropper plugin. It basically lets you insert Flickr creative commons images directly into you post without having to search on the actual Flickr site for them. It even adds a link back to the original image for credit. Download the Photo Dropper Flickr Wordpress Plugin Haven't used it myself since my blog posts often don't require stock imagery, but looks like it could be a timesaver. |

I take may own photos for posts. For design elements, if I don't do it all myself in Photoshop, I find this site, stock.xchng - the leading free stock photography site, has a huge amount of images. In the past I've used some and incorporated parts into another image or design. Very handy site.

Most of mine are screenshots so I use the Screengrab! addon for firefox and Techmith's Jing Screen Capture advice.
