I just started a blog. Can I use other people's photo's which were uploaded to photo sharing websites? Are there any websites that allow the use of photo's without being illegal? Thank you!

In general, no, you cannot use a photo unless you have permission, or unless the source gives blanket permission for the sort of use that you intend. I get most of my images from Wikimedia Commons. All of their images are free. Some require attribution, sometimes in a specific form. Some are public domain and can be used any way you like. Each image will have license information that clarifies how it may be used. |

I also sometimes use this site: stock.xchng - the leading free stock photography site It has a large collection of images that you can use; again, attribution is usually necessary so be sure to look at the usage options for each one you want to use. Also, if you aren't familiar with Creative Commons, you can read more about it here: About The Licenses - Creative Commons

if you need good photos for your blog, check flick.com and search for photos with creative commons licence - you can use them if you add author's name (most cases)
