Hello Everyone,

On average. How long did it take you to get to Rank 1. I am not even a month into this and I was just wondering.

My blog now is on Rank 2, and I'm pretty happy with it. However, should I want to make it to the next ranks, what would it take?

Google PR is largely based on back links. And it is incrementally harder to move up in PR. 1, 2, and 3 are relatively easy to get to. Even 4 isn't too hard (but that is going to be a well-established blog with some significant back links), and after that it become extremely difficult to move up in PR.

My own blog has been up and down between a 3 and 4 several times. Yes, I've been a 3 then a 4 then a 3 then a 4 then a 3 again right now. I seem to be right on the cusp between the two.

If you can get major bloggers or major newspapers to organically back link to you in the actual content of your articles, that is perfect - that is an amazing back link. That's not easy to do for obvious reasons. Basically, you just have to keep producing great content.

If you can find a great opportunity to guest blog, that helps because then that site will be a back link for you. Personally, I'm very weak at guest blogging because I hardly have time to just maintain my own blog.

Yes, the main determining factor is backlinks. I also not good in guest posting. I never did it. But I commented on blogs most of the times. Now I have PR 3. But I made several adjustments to my blog during last few weeks. So I am not sure what will happen to my blog on next update, because I lost few pages with Google PR due to my updates.
