Default Moving a Hardcoded Blog

I recently bought a blog as some of you may be aware. Yes the forsale forum on this site works .

Home Business Blog how to make money from home and small businesses

The problem is there is lots of images etc that are hardcoded to the old site. The old site was held at www.somedomain.com/homebizblogger

Lots of things point to my site now but all the javascript in each page has hardcoded the old domain. :S I trust the person I bought it off but I"d like everything to run on my servers so I can have more control over the blog.

I changed the location of files on my end in general under wordpress but is still always contacting somedomain. How can I go about changing this? Is there a way to go through an entire folder and chantge every www.somedomain to the right one?

Kinda lost and would appreciate any help. Never encountered this before!

You have several options. Depending on what is running in your server a beefy editor might be installed with a "Find/Replace" feature.

The other alternative is to download all the files via FTP and do them one by one with notepad. Faster would be with TextPad - the text editor for Windows which can do directory level stuff.

Right on!! I knew there was something out there that would help me do it faster before opening one at a time. This is the ONLY time I'm alittle bummed about having so much content. 488 blog posts to go through That's more than a year at one a day!

I just made a new post: HomeBizBlogger Has Been Sold! » Home Business Blog

This was done on my server but the page it created had this java script at the top...

<SCRIPT language="JavaScript">
<!--
if (document.images)
{
pic1= new Image(904,31);
pic1.src="http://dillydesigns.com/testing1/wp-content/themes/New Order Theme/neworder/images/contactrollover.gif";

pic2= new Image(904,31);
pic2.src="http://dillydesigns.com/testing1/wp-content/themes/New Order Theme/neworder/images/aboutrollover.gif";

pic3= new Image(904,31);
pic3.src="http://dillydesigns.com/testing1/wp-content/themes/New Order Theme/neworder/images/discloserollover.gif";

pic4= new Image(904,31);
pic4.src="http://dillydesigns.com/testing1/wp-content/themes/New Order Theme/neworder/images/homerollover.gif";

pic5= new Image(904,31);
pic5.src="http://dillydesigns.com/testing1/wp-content/themes/New Order Theme/neworder/images/advertiserollover.gif";

pic6= new Image(904,31);
pic6.src="http://dillydesigns.com/testing1/wp-content/themes/New Order Theme/neworder/images/resourcesrollover.gif";
}
//-->
</SCRIPT>

Any suggestions on where you go to modify the way pages are created? Never experienced this before when acquiring a website.

I often find asking questions to be a Socratic method of solving it myself to some extent. It is in the theme editor. Going to go for gold and give it a try.

I just had a look at your page source on FF and all this stuff appears in amongst the stuff that is in your header.php. You should either be able to edit the links in there or else it will be calling another file that has these links in it for editing.

ps, Do you ever switch your MSN on

LOL I can't even login to it. I tried and gave up. I should really change it to a better MSN. I wonder how many people have added me? Thanks for another bright idea Bob. Time to look into re-activating the account or making a new one.

Maybe this plugin can help you. It makes all your images absolute instead of relative.
