What You Think Of This Blog Idea?

Hey Guys,

So I'm looking to start up some new projects for myself, and I just wanted to see what you guys thought of this idea.

A blog where I interview a well known successful blogger every week, post it up all the questions and answers etc...

I could run things like blogger of the week, where you can ask the blogger of the week a question

Users can submit questions to ask bloggers etc...

How do you think this would go down?
Would many people be interested in it?

I know that some sites do conduct blog interviews, but none are solely dedicated to doing it as far as I can see

Also and probably crucially, do you think many bloggers would be interested in participating in it?

Cheers and I'm open to any comments and suggestions

I think that the bloggers themselves would be interested as it will be essentially a portal for more traffic, as for the readers themselves, again likely to be bloggers that are just starting out, could be quite hard to get some consistancy of interviews.. but I would definately visit...

Sounds like a really good idea and as was said above bloggers should want to be part of it as it could bring them new readers

The difficulty will be getting hold of "successful" bloggers! Good luck sounds interesting

I think if a person can blog referring an external blog post by providing a link, it is mutually beneficial.

I would be concerned that after awhile all of the interviews are going to end up being very similar. I do not think that there would be that much in a range of answers from various bloggers.

I like the idea of an interview site but see if you can expand the scope some how.

I can imagine almost any blogger would love that idea, just like an earlier post mentioned it could be a lot of traffic. Also considering they will link to your blog from there's ( if they announce the interview on their blog ) you will get a lot of traffic.

i like your idea, you can drive traffic to your blog as well as potential repost of that interview to the blogger you interview...your crowd plus their crowd is a good exposure for both party

It's obviously a good way to create original content. However, I can see that it will be very difficult to get these "successful bloggers" to respond to you, especially in the beginning. They need to have a reason to take time off their day to talk to you, which can be a difficult thing when you are only a small time venture. I would think that this idea, in reality, would only work if done by a big time blogger - one who is already established in viewership and are most likely already in contact with other successful bloggers. I agree that it could be difficult with getting the big bloggers to bite to begin with, but starting out with smaller (while aiming higher with "medium" traffic bloggers, your friends, etc), could potentially work eventually. Just note that you're going to need to build your own traffic to be able to entice bigger and better ones. I've done interviews for similar sites before, though, so also know that you're not alone. You need to make sure you make the interviews interesting and don't make them insanely long or no one is going to want to read really.
