Why some blogs are so slow?

One idea is to reduce number of posts per page especially for large images blog.

Site loading speed is important if it run so slow your visitors tend to leave..in reality we also do that, we dont wait much longer..

You could do that, or you could use "read more" links (aka jump-breaks). I really don't like waiting for long pages to load, but I'm sure most everybody doesn't!

Images can slow a blog down a lot, which is why it's important that you compress them—but without losing too much quality. JPG's are good for photos, and PNG's are my favorite for images with text or transparency, but they are sometimes smaller than JPG's and can be used instead.

I've noticed that a lot of bloggers clutter their blogs with useless widgets. Not only does it slow down the page, but it usually looks bad too! I like my widgets to match to the style of the rest of my blog, even if that means I have to customize them. Remember, widgets are for the reader's convenience. Widgets like music players are usually more of an inconvenience than anything else.

I wonder is "Read More" a good idea? I personally don't like this as it requires me to click twice into the real content. What do the rest of you guys think?

Google will penalize your blog in the rankings if it is really slow to load.
