Default I am VERY new, so please bear with me.

I have had my blog for about 7-8 months. I have a blog on couponing that I have a lot of ideas for, but do not know how to execute.

Right now, I write on Wordpress. Online. From what I understand, you can download Wordpress and host it yourself.

So I have some questions about that process. I poked around Go Daddy last night. The domain I want is available. And I looked at domain packages. From what I could tell, you bought the domain ($5ish) and a hosting package ($20ish) and that's it?? $25 for the year? Somehow I think I am missing something here?

Also, if I were to get this all done, I am assuming I need some sort of software to run my site? Would I buy one separate, or do they generally come when you buy your hosting? And, are they user-friendly?

...Again, I am Very, new, and I am sure my questions probably seem very naive to many, but if you could take a minute to answer it would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

You are going to get all kinds of recommendations about Wordpress AND for web hosting here, so you can just research and see which appeals to you most.

Here are some really good places to try: Bravenet, HostGator (click here to see the Bloggeries deal on this host), and even GoDaddy itself (see this deal from Bloggeries here). GoDaddy has hosting too. There are more great hosts that people here will let you know about too. I use Bravenet, but am thinking about switching to HostGator. I do not recommend GreenGeeks hosting service.

Putting WordPress on your website is not hard. You just have to do it step by step. You get your software here: WordPress › Blog Tool and Publishing Platform. Here is just one tutorial to help you from TheSiteWizard.com.

Then you just post using the software that comes with Wordpress. This does not cost anything. There are many free add-ons you can get for Wordpress too. You can pick free themes (designs) on the Wordpress.org site.

This is just a beginner's advice here, (I am just starting with Wordpress) but I hope it helps you. There is tons of information on the 'net too, and I know you will find LOTS more great advice about Wordpress blogs here on Bloggeries too. There are a lot of experts here. Good luck on your new Wordpress blog!

I dont know anything about wordpress , but I do know a domain host is where your domain name is served from. Just as the wordpress blog you have is hosted someplace. By wordpress or whoever they use.

Some host have editors like the one you probably have at wordpress and some you have to create your site pages on your computer or an online editor ship to godaddy via FTP. If you are that green you certainly dont know anything about FTP. I wouldnt rush into until you are certain about your needs.

Also wait for someone else to respond that has more knowledge about godaddy and wordpress. Someone might even know a good webhost. Just because you register your domain through godaddy doesnt mean you have to use them as a host.

My blog is at blogspot and if you have your own domain name registered they handle the work of switching it over. You dont have to transfer any files to a different host. I would almost have to think wordpress would have something like that also. But like I said I know nothing about wordpress.

I would try | 123-reg.co.uk | I have found them to be very good and cheap.

To install wordpress on to your website, if you sign up with JustHost.com or .co.uk , once you have signed up and paid they can install wordpress for you very easily. They have a good live support and control panel to do it all yourself. But the live support will do it for you if you ask them and they will provide you your login and password.

I use justhost and I have had no problems and they do everything for me...all I do is just blog. They were very helpful, you should check them out?

Hope that helps in some way
