Default Blogger formatting

Where can I find a tutorial or something on how to format text in blogger? I try to use the text box in the Posts tab but it always comes out odd.

I don't know of any tutorials for that off hand. Is there something specific you're trying to change and it's not working out for you?

Can't you go into the code view and format the HTML manually to achieve what you want?

What, exactly, are you trying to do?

In Blogger, I would suggest pasting your text in the "Edit HTML" tab. That should strip any and all formatting from it. Then switch to the "Compose" tab and add any formatting that you want to the now-plain text, using Blogger's tools.

This way, you can avoid all that horrible complex uncooperative formatting from Word or wherever the text came from.

Edited to add: A few things, like blockquotes, will still have to be formatted by actually typing the HTML codes. But most things can be done with the Blogger formatting tools. If something gets tangled up, I usually just start over by copying the text and pasting it in the HTML side all over again.

Ok, didn't work...

I can't get paragraphs to indent by hitting Tab and when I change the size of text, it doesn't work.

Here's how it looks now...

Hmm. Do you have your heart set on indented paragraphs? I never indent paragraphs on my blog - I just add an extra line between paragraphs, as in this post. I rarely see a blog that indents paragraphs, and I think that even if you did indent them, you'd want that extra line. I know that you _can_ get them to indent, but I suspect you'd have to learn a little bit of CSS.

How did you try to resize the text? I select the text and use the pop-down "T" tool that offers Smallest, Small, Normal, Large, and Largest. Did that not work, or did you use something else?

I don't know what's wrong with the text sizing - it's never failed for me. What happens if you create a brand new post, type some text in without ever pasting anything, and then try to resize that text?
