Default A very interesting article on blogging "alliance"..

This article may be as old as the Sun itself, but I think that you'll all find it interesting, even for a re-read. It's an amazing idea, and perhaps if more people did it, fledgling blogs would stop disappearing right away due to lack of others' interest.

Let me Show You Inside a Secret Blogging Alliance

That was a pretty good read. It's a really interesting idea. The only drawback (if you can call it that) is that it requires a lot of dedication from all members. Lots of people barely have enough dedication to keep their own blogs afloat, so maybe that's why lots of people don't do this. Or maybe they do do it...it's a secret, remember? =P Regardless, it's a very good idea.

A secret indeed! Haha.. but I think that it's a great idea early on for those who are willing to be dedicated, but can't ever put that to use. That's my problem; I have put a lot of work into projects, but they never go anywhere.

The only problem that -I- see is finding enough bloggers in your niche that are small enough to be interested and big enough to be useful. I'm not really a prominent part of the blogging community, so I don't have any contacts. Maybe this is my call to networking? :P

I don't have a specific blogging alliance but definitely have a set of blogging friends who are supportive.

You're right, if you're in a tight niche you have to work harder to develop that sort of support. You have to embrace a one way direction at first - you do all the commenting and linking support towards others and trust that if you're good they'll eventually return the favor
