You should definately start a new one - to me a blog should represent the person who is writing.

I had great fun setting mine up and even in the early days before I got many comments it was fun because it was mine.

Good luck

It is ideal to begin from scratch, you can get and old one but it is better if you will start fresh. Followers of the previous blog will observe the changes in writing styles thus the odds of sustaining the old style is limited except if you are completely gifted.

It can make sense to purchase an established domain, if the domain name has one of your main keywords in it. It depends on what you want to do with it, in any case, you need to build your own content.

Depends on what you want. Do you want to express yourself or to rake in cash? Buy one if its the later.

Shocking really... how many of you think starting from scratch is easier.

If you buy a site you're essentially getting a head start. You don't have to do all the heavy promotion, content building, back link building, etc... it's been done for you.

You can choose your site to fit your writing style and your interest so you will be able to retain the majority of the reader base (so long as you're a capable blogger) i wouldn't think you can just start writing and people will like your stuff you have to realize that there is something to writing unique content that you can not buy.

The only things you'd be giving up when buying a blog are the fact that you didn't create it from the ground up - a lot of money cause it's not cheap to buy a quality site with a lot of content which is the only way I'd say would be worth it - and the time you need to background check the potential sites.

It's totally up to you and your goals, but remember no matter what your choice blogging is a blogger/reader relationship and whether you buy or start from scratch you must respect your readers or you will fail regardless of where you start

My idea is not to buy blog, just create a new one. Even though it will take some time to grow your community, that community will remain through out your blogging carrier. So don't waste your money.....Happy blogging.

Better to start from scratch. By all means get an aged domain name if you can but the blog ideally should be a fresh one. Followers of an old blog will notice the change in writing style so any chances of keeping them are limited unless you are really gifted at blogging.
