Free blogging? Blogger, no question. Wordpress allows no customisation of your blog, has very limited themes and doesn't allow you to monetise in any way (if you're aiming for that kind of thing). If you host your own blog on your own web service, I'd recommend the standalone wordpress. But if choosing between Wordpress.com and Blogger, I'd choose Blogger everytime.

Blogspot is chosen because they allow for advertising. Wordpress is a better platform, but the .com is indeed limiting. Best bet, a 3 USD .info domain (if you don't want to pay 10 for a .com) and a small reseller hosting ON CPANEL. Run from Godaddy or similar crap as much as you can

I agree. I definitely don't think Blogger is only for beginners. Blogger is so easy to use and simple for beginners, but it's also great for advanced users.

I haven't used blogger but I can give some pros and cons for wordpress.

Loads of themes
Loads of add ons
Easy to use
BUT
Restricted design-wise without knowing CSS/PHP.
Posts can be annoying...they don't always format as you would expect.

In general though, I think it's brilliant personally

I choose wordpress but self hosting. Never try to host your own things in others.
