I've been making bloggeries for a while but I still make this mistake sometimes... I'll take alot of time writing a post than throw the title on and hit post. Than later a few minutes later to realize WHOOPS there is a typo. Once you make the correction it will appear ok but the permalink will remain unchanged. If it is part of your keyword you are targeting you may of just wasted the post as the URL will no longer be what you had hoped for. So just take a minute and run it through a spell checker and make sure everything is fine. Sounds like common sense but it's all to easy to rush the final step in an effort to see the end result and partially waste the time you just spent. Can you tell I just recently did this.

But you can't go in your control panel, in your database with phpmyadmin and just change the permalink? I used to do this, when I make a mistake. Of course, only you can do this, not your visitors.

You can change the slug under MANAGE and than EDIT on the particular post. I'd recommend it as long term SE traffic is what you are ultimately after. (or at least I always am) If you don't you'll be relying on misspell words which wasn't the intent I'm sure. When you said you have problem with slugs what were you referring to?

URL contains the slug. It's www.nameofyourdomain.com/(text from slug)/ If you write a post and save it, the slug appears as well (title with dash between words). But if you make a mistake in title and you change the title and the slug, the url remains with the mistake. So, you must go in your cpanel, in your database with phpmyadmin (if you own your domain), go into table wp_posts, browse the table and edit the field guid (it holds the url). That's in case that I understand correctly what you wanted to say |

It won’t change in the database.
