I think that a good way to make your content explosive is to make them worth it.

I have noticed that the posts that are read the most are the ones that make people care.

(For me) I write a blog about what I'm doing to update my family. I have noticed that my blogs about issues, and "WTF" moments are the ones that get read more often.

Therefore, I would think (for you) to write about stuff that your target audience would care about. Maybe breaking news? Something you find humorous?

Blogging is healthy, I think lots of people found a niche where they can self-medicate themselves. It's like in-your-own place therapy. Whatever works, right ?

Yes, I agree with ryn894. My blog is a multi-feceted blog with quite a few different topics. Only three of them get major hits, the others get read once in a while. An example of my most popular page is : Stupid is, Stupid does | Secret Basket of Eggs and is humorous, just like mentioned above.
