I'd like to use a "read more" link after about two paragraphs worth of text but it's down at the end of the post. I either need to delete it entirely or move it up and add a page the rest of the text goes to. I know I have to edit the html but I can't find the read more widget in the code. How do I do that? Is it easy to change the location of the link and add an inside page? I don't know how to do any of this. Can anyone help?

| I to blogger help and followed the procedure to install the read more link. I edited the html code and when I went to view the post, read more was at the bottom and, of course, it didn't go anywhere. I can't find the section of code that makes it work or I'd try deleting it. Do I have to create an inside page where the balance of the text will go? Can I set it up so read more will insert itself at a prearranged place in the post, say after 250 words or is it something I have to put in every time I write a post Below is the most recent post. Does this help? It's just a cut and paste. I need to figure out how to do a screendump. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 Let them get through school first .fullpost{display:none;} Another one for the "what were you thinking?" file: An air traffic controller at Kennedy airport In New York brought his son to work one afternoon and his daughter visited the next day. I'm sure it was an interesting and exciting visit for both. Dad let both of them talk to pilots but the kids didn't give any type of direction. Communication between the kids and the pilots was limited to things like "flight 171 cleared for takeoff" and "adios amigo." The pilots seemed amused and no harm was done. I don't mean to be a buzz-kill, but an air traffic controller has hundreds of people's lives in his or her hands at any one time. However cute these kids were, directing flights in and out of an airport as busy as JFK is complex and exacting. Mistakes can cost lives. As parents, we tend to think our children are smart enough to rise to any occasion and it's almost understandable that this controller would think that way about his children. However, the supervisor on duty should have put a stop to it. The lapse of judgment he or she showed is stunning. People get nonchalant about the jobs they do but when I'm flying I want the air traffic controller handling my flight to be anything but casual and fun-loving. Give me someone in the tower who's on top of everything and let's save the nonchalance for the coroner who eats a sandwich while doing an autopsy. At least his customer is already dead. »» read more Posted by Essbar at 7:59 PM 0 comments Labels: air traffic control, children, JFK, safety

You can't post a screenshot like that because the image is on your local computer and we can't see it. Your problem appears to be that you are using an older blogger template which needs to be modified. I would try downloading one of the newest blogger templates or starting from a brand new one with read more support built in.

I downloaded a new template last night, hoping that would solve the problem. Besides, this wasn't a problem until I backed up the template and edited the code to put in a read more. If I could just get rid of it I could come back later and start from scratch.

Please ignore my post above. I mistakenly assume you are using Wordpress (for some reason I think everybody is using it). I'm not familiar with Blogger, but if you can post your template code, we might be able to figure it out, together.
