I think that wordpress is more newbie friendly and it is much easier to customize.

I use Blogger, which I see as the very easiest platform, but also one without a lot of flexibility. I'm using it to eliminate the temptation to do a lot of programming and HTML stuff, because I want my blog to be a non-technical hobby - I do enough technical stuff in other areas of my life. Also, it's free and I don't have to accept ads to pay back the freeness. If I wanted more flexibility and features, I'd probably go with Wordpress. But I believe that if you want it to be free, you have to accept some ads. |

Depends on your experience. If you're just starting out you may want to try one of the free blogging platforms like blogger, or wordpress.com After that, you should probably look into setting up your own blog on your own server with Wordpress. The versatility of Wordpress makes it pretty much the blogging platform of choice. |

I use WordPress on a self hosted server, it is excellent, no doubt, I also read a lot and this seems to be the best platform for blogging today. Blogger is fine but you can't really go pro with it. WordPress today has so many plug-ins and themes that the options are endless. Enjoy your blogging - Ami |
