Hello guys.

After two months of blogging, I have achieved Google Page Rank 2. Is that good for a blog of that age?

Also, I have been reading extensively online on how to improve my blog's PR but I find most of the things confusing.

Can anybody give me first hand advice on how to go about this matter?

You are not alone, I use to have a blog that is also having a pagerank 2 some months back, but right after i made some changes to the title tag the pagerank disappeared and it has never came back ever since.

The real google page rank system no secret.

We know (from both Google and observation) that page rank is seriously dependent on how many links you have coming in and what kind of quality they are. Geting hundreds of inbound links from small sites may not be as valuable as getting a single link from a site with major page rank. But they all, big and small, add up.

same to you , to maintain or improve rank I mostly follow people who say it confidently. I keep linking my blog with scribd, active my twitter since my twitter now is in page rank 3.so only this I have done, my site now is still in constant PR2 , hope next update will increase

I've been using this little tool to figure out Page Rank:

PR goes from 0 to 10. The higher the number, the better. When people are doing searches related to various topics, the higher the page number the more easily a person will find your site when doing an organic google search.

A page rank 2 in 2 months is pretty good. One of the things that google looks at is incoming links to your site. The higher the PR of the link coming to your site, the more it is worth. (Look at my thread on "CNN mention of my blog" - That one link probably did me wonders!).

Lots and lots of blogs sit out there empty with PR 0 and little traffic.

The one thing I've heard (not sure about, someone help correct me??) is that when a blog is fairly new, under 6 months old, the PR can fluctuate a lot as Google tries to figure out exactly how to rank it.

Pagerank in many ways is over rated. It is only a small part of what it takes to do well in search engines and seems to me to be more of a bragging right. You should focus your time on creating more and better content for your niche and developing real authority by creating relationships with other like minded people who are active webmasters.

This is helpful. There appears to be a theme in the comments. It seems that focusing on content versus style is what will count in the long run. So I guess the real question to ask myself is this a 100 yard dash or a marathon.

I know I am not the most expert blogger here (there are many others who know more) but my advice is to comment on other blogs that are like yours, register with directories and search engines, and get on Google Webmaster Tools. There are many people out there, too, that offer a free e-book on SEO, etc. Take advantage of these! You can put them all together and read them when you can.
