what's the most used blog platforms?

Being a fan of these so-called blogs especially when they got my interests, I want to make mine a really good one. Just want to know what's the most used blog platform? So I would use it next time.

Mine is a wordpress and I find it very plain. Do colors and backgrounds got reader's attention?
Need some comments for it. Thanks.

For free templates / themes with lots of flexibility I'd have to say Wordpress. Not the one where they host you but the install you run on a domain of yours.

Tens or Hundreds of Thousands of free wordpress themes are available.

I have wordpress on my own domain, and I liked it very much. I can customize the code how I like. Though, I don't like that blogs hosted on wordpress.com cannot have full control over the code and database. I try to do one yesterday, and it make me nuts.

I host my own WordPress-powered blog too and I've never regretted it. Literally everything can be customized, from the header image to the footer details. There are thousands of WordPress themes available, and another thousands of plugins to enhance your blog.

The most important thing is, it's FREE.

What more could you ask for?!
