I am confused as to why incoming links aren't appearing in my dashboard. I know, the obvious thought is well, lady, you're not getting any... but I have been working on it and am on a number of people's blog rolls, I've been featured/linked to in several different blogs posts, and I've commented on lots of DoFollow blogs... I am just not seeing any of that activity on my dashboard. All the incoming links listed there are several weeks old. Do the links come in on a schedule? Am I doing something wrong?

Here is what Google has found of your links: link:http://quirkymomma.com - Google Search Here is a specific list of the blogs that have linked to you: link:http://quirkymomma.com - Google Search (Note that there are five pages of results, at least for me.) I'm using an advanced, preview version of Google so results may perhaps differ. Either way I'll give you a screenshot. (See the bottom of the post.) If you really want to see all of your links to your blog then sign up for Google Webmasters. It is full of reports on what Google has found recently that related to your blog. That'll give you yet another dashboard to obsessively check.

That's just it! Most of those links are back from September/October... so strange! Glad to know that I am not loony. I submitted a new sitemap to webmaster, hopefully they will crawl my site soon and update all those links. I can physically go to a number of sites and follow my links back to me, its so funny that Google hasn't found them! Has this happened to anyone else? I bet that is why my page rank never grew with the last revision! I update my page 4-10 times a week with original content... for some reason I just thought they'd find me without me having to submit my site. Oh, and I've gotten very little search engine traffic in the past month. I wonder if I did something to tick the great big Google off?

I have quite a few links that aren't showing on webmaster tools, they don't even show on a link search, but I figure all will come in due time, their fairly new links so I'm not too worried about them yet

I think that Google updates most of the linkbacks when they update Google Pagerank. Definitely, though you should try Google Webmaster. That will show the recent links, usually.

So far webmaster shows zero... I set up the account over a week ago - maybe it takes time for them to find me?
