LIke Jessi said you don't really have to draw and photograph your own pics, but believe it or not that can be a good thing to do. The web is full of regurgitated content that has been reworked over and over again.

If you search for some images you'll find that the free images that are Creative Commons or otherwise licensed have been used thousands of times to the point of being almost cliche. In that respect building fresh content with unique images can actually be a great way to build an image as a high quality, interesting blog.

Well i think its odd how these things work, i mean when you are posting someone's photos you are promoting them in a way. As for my problem i'm posting the photos under the Australian 'fair use' policy.

Quote:
The main exceptions to copyright infringement in Australia come under the general hearing fair dealing. Fair dealing is comparable to the United States' fair use, is a use of a work specifically recognised as not being a copyright violation. However, unlike fair use, in order to be a fair dealing under Australian law a use must fall within one of range of specific purposes. These purposes vary by type of work, but the possibilities are:
  • review or criticism
  • research or study
  • news-reporting
  • judicial proceedings or professional legal advice
  • parody or satire (this last is new: it was added by the Copyright Amendment Bill 2006)
