Anyone here video blog? Anyone thinking of video blogging? I think it's the "new frontier" there are millions / billiions of blogs but how many video blogs, yes?

There's a fatal flaw - search engine bots can't watch videos

Unless you are willing to type out a transcript of what's in the video and post it on the page alongside the video, then you've got no on page content for the bots to read - and hense no rankings

There is a compromise - videos with content text and comments from youtube - like my currency trading video directory: FOREX Video - Forex Video

I'm tempted to create lots more of these for various niches - but they don't do very well for getting traffic from google, despite being heavily SEO'd

I def agreee that video blogging is a good idea! oh and cool video blog.

For me the problem is a loss of anonymity.

I did think of doing one with puppets though, but it would take far too much effort.

What do you think about the concept of video blogging and then paying someone to transcribe or write a blog entry out of the content you have in the video and write it in a SEO fashion.

Naturally this would be outsourced and cost money. I wonder what your thoughts are on the subject of video blogging in that fashion?

I don't know... really too much effort. It is cheaper to pay a professional, who can write the same thing without any previous content

I thought about it but most one of the gimmicks of my blog is my cartoons. I think it would take away from that if people saw the real me instead of the cartoon me. I've thought about doing audio posts though were I read some of my more well known and crazy true stories.

Videos take a lot of time and effort to do properly. If you don't have a good camera, good lighting, and the time to edit the video together properly then you are better off with no video. (And that is completely ignoring the fatal problem of video not being well indexed by Google.)

I would recommend you checkout in youtube "Sxephil". He has a good, popular vlog, for which Youtube is paying him money.
