Default Traffic

Hey,

just wondering if around 20-30 visits a day is good? My sites about a month old now, and really isn't generating much ad revenue lol. Anyone know how to increase traffic?

I do the social networking thing, i've submitted to loads of directories etc don't know what else I can do lol.

Kathy

In blogging you cannot be successful overnight! You need hardwork and buy some time. Just keep on and do not lose your passion and that's the key to success!

visitors from social network sites are notorious for just taking a quick look at your site and then hitting the back button - i.e. they don't click any ads

directories are now virtually worthless - the only people using them are webmasters trying to promote their sites - i.e. they're not interested in visiting any site in the directory, just getting visitors to their own site

article marketing still works - write an article for your site, and then submit a modified version for each of the major article directories - put your keyword hyperlink in the bio box

blog commenting still works - search out blog posts on the same topic as your site and post a comment - then use your 2 or 3 word search phrase instead of your real name in the comment box name field

I've been going for nearly 3 months now and my analytics traffic graph is is a pleasing slope upwards. I know that there are people on here who after a week have 100 + visitors, but as long as my graph keeps growing I'm happy.

I get 100-150 per day, but I've got quite a bit of google traffic that I couldn't deter even if I wanted to now. I got lucky with some keywords and they're pretty stable. I did all the social networking and commenting stuff, but the only good long term benefits I found were from guest posts.

20-30 visitors for a month old blog is pretty good. Looks like you have a solid base to build form. What ever you're doing must be right, so keep up the good work!

Although the smaller directories are fairly useless because not many people use them, wouldn't they provide additional links to your page making them useful for that reason? I have always added to them, never see traffic from there but I thought it would at least land me a link from those directories.

I'd suggest using something else rather than google analytics. Google can basically do anything from the data they can collect from your site. That is sort of the permission you're giving them when you have their analytics...

In the end, this could be used against you as you try to expand the number of sites you have.
