Alexa page ranking??

I did a search yesterday to see how popular my blog was on google.. it wasn't at all it got a 0 lol which seems odd as I think i'm getting 40 hits a day. It's not blocked either as I checked that out. But there was another thing that came up it said I was 7/10 on Alexa page rank. I've never heard of it before but apparantly that's really good and I should have lots of traffic coming through.

Anyone ever heard of that? My blogs not a month old yet.

Sadly whatever told you that you have PR 7/10 must have been lying. I just did a check with the tool that I always use:

prchecker.info

and it said that you are still at 0/10. That means that you need to work on building backlinks to your blog.

At this point with a new blog you will probably get most of your visits from friends, family, and forum members such as me and others here at Bloggeries.

You will begin to get Google search results later when your blog becomes older and better known.

You have to write really good articles and get your friends to link to them from their blogs. Or you can submit your articles to relevant blog carnivals, or guest post to get links to your blog.

That is not a lot of traffic, it will take significantly more than that to get mapped on Alexa.

I only care about keyword exposure for my blogs. Without that forget about it.

Usually it takes multiple months of hard work and posting until you can get onto the back end of lists like that.

The people who ask to guest post on my blog are ones with similar blogs who have been to my site. They usually email me about it. So if I wanted to do that (and that sounds like a good idea) I would find a quality blog in the same area as mine, then ask them about it.

I haven't used a Blog Carnival yet. I have been to Alexa. I am not on the top 100,000 yet. But maybe someday!
