Default Advice on Ad Placement/Format/Colors?

I just started blogging a couple weeks ago. I'm averaging 100-150 page impressions/day. I've been experimenting with difference google ad placements/colors. What have been your experiences? Is it best to try to attract attention (in my case, bright red background or something) or is it best to try to blend in to the rest of your page?

Blending the ads to your site's overall color is best. I'm curious how you're getting 100-150 page impressions per day so fast? Is it targeted traffic? If so then that's good!

My blog is politically-motivated. I make a lot of youtube videos, I do a lot of photoshop work, I've got merchandise on zazzle, and I'm pretty active on facebook. I've got links scattered all over the place. Free marketing ftw.

Thanks for the advice; it certainly looks better that way.

All the experts say make adsense ads blend in with the site - same background colour and link colour, with no visible border

Nothing too bright and flashy. Blue and green colors (as well as pink ones) are considered good. But I guess much depends on your theme. If you want to talk about boxing - pink is not the best variant.
