What is a good number of followers?

I started my blog in September (back dating some posts) and I am trying to work out how many followers i should aim towards per month.


I know nothing about blogging so any feedback much appreciated and I would love something to compare to.

Well, it certainly depends on what you "need" the followers for. If you want to make some cash (check link in signature) you might want as many as you can.

If you want a nice community type following, maybe there is a number for that, but I wouldn't know what that is. The point of this is that you really should set a number, just produce some content, or tweets, that people enjoy and find useful and the followers will come.

I am sure other "experts" will chime in on this one soon

No I am not looking to make money I guess I just want to know where I should be aiming for if that makes sense.

Although 2k followers is a good number, in my opinion, 5 or 6 hundred followers is also ok for me. It depends on your niche and what you write about. Also, what you want to do with your twitter account is very important.

followers? you mean how many unique visitors to your site or something else?

Well if your not looking to make money, I guess you have to ask yourself.....How many people need to visit my site to give me incentive to keep writing?

I am brand new to blogging and I think 100 repeat visitors a day would keep me happy, then anything after that would be a bonus.

I'd have to ask the same question? What do you mean by "Followers"? Are you using Google Analytics? (I assume there are other kinds of analytics but Google Analytics is the only one I know). Do you mean visitors per day? Unless you're already a name for yourself, I can't imagine a new blog would get hundreds of visitors per day.

It actually depends on you if you're opting for more people to read your blog for the sake that you would be more inspired to blog, then a 100-150 visit a day is not bad.

But if you're opting to earn cash, then you should try hard to keep visitors coming. You can do that by doing back links for your blog and even blog commenting. you can choose other blog site that is related to yours and you'll see that people keeps on coming back to visit your site.

That is about where I am at joieb - Been blogging since Sept, and currently get about 100 to 150 visitors each day.

That is a strange question. The more you have - the better! Aim for 10000 per month if you want to
