Default Ad Question

Should I add another ad to the front page. If so...where?

The reason I am asking is because this is because no one seems to be clicking on my ad. Im averaging my most views this month and the least amount of clicks.

My website is Callatonic Productions

It's a nice looking site

I think the problem might stem from your ads not being relevant enough. The page is about sport and fitness, but the ad that I saw was about debt relief...

It's possible that you don't have enough text on your page, and need to bulk it up a bit so that you get sport related ads. I think once your ads are on target you will see a great improvement as the people who come to your site will do so because of an interest/search on sport.

As far as adding another ad, there is definitely room for that Maybe a horizontal link banner beneath your menu and before the first post?

You're spot on with that - trouble is this guy doesn't listen - he's been told all this before, but done nothing about it

Hey Future...You have any idea how about going to put a banner there. I have tried that position before on other themes and wasn't able to figure it out.

As far as the ads go...I have never seen them not related to my site somehow and I check my site out like 10-20 times a day. I have definitely been writing more...its just that I am not a great writer and theres only so much to say about each video. What else could I do to beefen it up?

I checked a few of your post pages and the ads were not relevant to the post - This will vary depending where abouts in the world the visitor is from - I'm in the UK, so some USA advertisers will not want me to click their ad if they are only shipping in the USA

I noticed even the boxing posts have very little text - all you have to do is write a few lines about what happens in round 1, round 2, etc. - dead easy to do, you can even cheat and summerize from a sports page report of the match

basketball, hockey, etc. similar except you say what to look out for 15 minutes in, 27 minutes in, etc.

1 large "in yer face" ad block in, or above the post is best - sidebar is not best position

I had 3 google ad blocks per page and was struggling to maintain 1 percent clickthough rate with above, below, sidebar, in-post (different positions for categories, post page, etc.

when I dropped the sidebar ad block the clickthough rate and earnings improved - days with 1 percent or higher clickthrough rate went up from 40 percent before, to 70 percent now

I'm now thinking of trying a single above or in-post ad block per page, depending on home page, category, post page to see if clickthrough rate and earnings improve again

Are you familiar with the Tubular Theme at all? I cant figure out how to place the ad above the posts without screwing up all the formatting.

Thumbs up Re: Ad Question - above post ad rotator

use a free ad rotator:
Max Banner Ads

if you only put 1 adsense code in "above post" position of rotator then it will display like you inserted it in the template

you can add other ads such as clickbank, flash, etc. and it will show them alternately and prevent "ad blindness"

if your trying to make money from your blog, just automatically assume a certain percentage of your user base will be blocking your junk.

Yer, I got more clicks when I moved ads to places which were visible as soon as they first saw the page. I'd put a banner just under the navbar, in line with the content, but obviously not so big that its stupid.
