How important is a proper domain name to you when visiting blogs? Also how important is the suffix to you when choosing a domain name to register for your blog? When visiting a site if you see .biz do you automatically think .scam? Do you think .net's are just as good as .com or anything other than .com is rubbish?
I used to be a .com snob. I still am kinda if you have a site that will get lots of repeat type-in traffic. However if you have an information site of some sort that you plan on getting the majority of traffic through search engines I think the other acronyms are fine. I won't turn away from a site because it is .net, org etc... However I must admit that if I do a type-in of any sort it is 99% of the time a .com What are your thoughts? Rob |

Somebody told me that a .com is more professional-looking compared to a .net. So that was why I bought chenpn.com, LOL.
But I've never thought of the others - just shows how much of a geek I am not, LOL.

.com to me says "I'm a company I'm serious and I'm gonna get money off you"
.net is for network sites, site that are serious but not money grabbing lol .org is for organisations .biz are tacky imho. .coms have always been frowned on in my circle so I'm all for the .org/.net/.nu |

Glad I asked as most of us have different views and I can understand all of them!
One thing from all the responses so far we can all agree upon I think is that .biz and info are tacky. If you haven't already answered; what are your thoughts? Rob |
