How many tags in a post?

I usually tag as many keywords as possible as well. Did not occur to me that this might not be the best way to go.

I began using 3-10 but I think anywhere in between works well. Also remember like stated above it's good if you keep the tags consistent with the blogs content.

For example if you use the tag Philosophy in a blog containing philosophy, you wouldn't want to have another related blog with the tag Philosophy 101. You would want to keep it consistent with your other tags which relate to other posts.

This is also good for search engines, it makes for more articles per tag as opposed to 1000 tags with only 2 articles in each ;]

I keep my tags relevant but I add quite a few.. depends on the post really. But i've been getting quite a few hits from somewhere so must be okay?
