I like smugmug.com . For a small fee each year, you get virtually unlimited storage and bandwidth for images, and maybe video now, not sure on that one. Ive been with them for years. If you use a referral code, you can save something like $5, and Ill save $10 on my renewal. I went the first couple of renewals with out paying a penny because of referrals. My coupon code is 5bQxXhVZY6En2. If its not allowed on this forum, please let me know and Ill remove it, if its not auto removed.

I self-host. I like to keep everything nice and simple. As long as my host is up and running, my pictures will be there with my pages.

If you use Google Blogger then by all means use their Picassa web albums that they give you free of charge. It has 1gb of storage and you never have to worry about bandwidth. Of course if you self host, especially if you are on a cheap plan, it might be a good idea to host the pictures somewhere else to save bandwidth. But be aware that some image hosts limit bandwidth to a certain amount after which it will display a "bandwidth exhausted" image. Then they require you to pay for more bandwidth. So if you are going to use an image host use a good one, don't use Image Shack. Flickr is better, but I would still prefer self-hosting of images.

I like using Flickr, because it saves storage space on your own server. Plus, they give you three automatically resized images to choose from, and you can get traffic to your website by including the link in the description of each photo that you use on your website.

I have been using flickr, but have considered uploading my photos through blogger. I would recommend keeping a flickr account with images from your blog uploaded and links in back to your blog in the description.
