How long did it take you to have steady organic traffic? (Poll)

My purely organic traffic is not too high right now, though slowly and steadily increasing. I'd like to know how long it took everyone from the beginning to have a steady stream of traffic without a lot of constant promotion.

How much traffic do you call "a steady stream of traffic"? 10 visitors a day? 100? 1000?

this is a great topic.. but no one has responded. My blog is only a few weeks old aswell and am curious as to how long this will generally take as well

My new blog only gets a few organic SE hits per day now, unless you count digg/stumbleupon as organic, if so I would say the 2-3 month range is about right.

I was leaning toward search engine traffic, with the focus on just writing and then getting traffic, as opposed to bookmarking your articles elsewhere for the traffic... but I guess digg/stumble/reddit/etc/etc could be included too

Since mine has only been up for 12 days... I don't really have the data. Of course, I have a particularly difficult time, as I'm competing with Messiah College for keywords.

I've been blogging around 18 months now, and I started to notice free search engine traffic around 2 to 3 months. It's around 60 to 80 SE visits a day now, with no promotion.

Having pictures helps a lot, as does using descriptive post names. I could have done much better optimisation, but it also depends on what you're writing about.

It depends on how much traffic your talking about? I was getting organic search traffic 4 - 6 months after opening the site. But it was just a few hits a day.

One of my sites, its take 2+ years to get serious traffic.
