I've only been blogging for about a month with my current blog, but my old one took a year for me to get steady followers (and most of them were my friends).

it takes alot of time to get oranganic traffic from the search engines but once you have got it it is great

free steady visitors is brill lol

Around 50 - 100 unique visitors a day after 2 weeks online

I've found that volume of organic search traffic increases proportionally to the number of posts (or bloggeries, if you will) in your blog, and if you happen to get linked from a popular site, all the better.

I am getting one or two unique visitors a day from search engines but that is only because I covered a topic which is easy to hit the top and searched a reasonable amount.
