Default Advice From More Experienced Bloggers Who Put You Tube in Their Blog

I just found out now, 9 months after the fact how easy it is to put YouTube in my Wordpress Blog and it doesn't require any software or plugins. My question is:

1. When you put YouTube on Your Blog Page is the file large and on the average if you were to take a guess how large a file is it?

It doesn't matter on the size. It's hosted at You Tube. Not on your blog.

Embed flash sparingly. It's not search engine friendly and it will slow down your blog considerably because it is hosted at You Tube, so each page load the player has to connect with you tube's servers. It can be irritating. I would blog about the topic and just link to it video.

Another option is to use abbreviated posts to make sure that the YouTube video only loads on the post page, not the main page.

Default Help Now I'm More Confused Embedding You Tube Will Cause Bad Google Rankings & Slow Down Loading?

"Embed flash sparingly. It's not search engine friendly and it will slow down your blog considerably because it is hosted at You Tube, so each page load the player has to connect with you tube's servers. It can be irritating. I would blog about the topic and just link to it video."

Now I'm totally confused. I added You Tube to about 10 of my Blogs and I didn't notice any problems loading. Why would this effect where the blog Posts are on Search engines? I don't see something like this Blog Post opening slowly www.giftsandfreeadvice.com/free_advice/china-suicide-push-video-man-pushes-suicide-jumper-off-bridge/

Embedding YouTube will not effect where the blog posts are on the SEs. It is just not SE friendly as there is no real way for the SE bots to read what the video is about, and there are no alt tags like with images. Depending on the YouTube traffic at the time, it can slow down the page load a little as well. I use them when I find them, but try and make sure you have text above and below the video so the SEs know what the page is about.

Default Thanks for Clarifying That I SHould Have Clarified My Post As Well

I should have mentioned that I have enough text in my Blogs for SEO even with You Tube as for example this post. China Suicide Push Video Man Pushes Suicide Jumper Off Bridge | Gifts and Free Advice Before I was just providing a text link to YouTube that opened up in another window. It looks in my opinion more professional when youtube is in the Blog and I think readers will stay on my site more. As to loading more, that would probably be an issue more so on future timely videos than older ones and I appreciate you making me aware of this.

I normally put YouTube above my text. Just like a picture, so that way people can watch what it's about and then read my post. I'm not really thinking about SEO when it comes to that, I just want my readers to get a better experience. But now that you bring it up, I could do an introduction to the video, and put it below the introduction.

You may not care about seo, but if you want more readers to get a better experience, then it should at least be on your mind.
