I've just started my own blog, and have been happy with the sites contents and the design to my blog. It's all original, however the one thig I struggle on, is growing an audience.

I've tried to use an RSS2.0 feed, however I didn't understand it and deleted it. =/

And then I was referred to this site, there was an article about growing traffic? so I signed up

Haha.

Hmmm, If anyone could guide me into starting to have more peope visit my site, I would be more then gratful.

Welcome to Bloggeries.

There are many things you can do to expand your blog's audience and get more traffic. You should mainly focus on adding lots of good content that people will find useful or entertaining. Along with that central task, submit your articles to sites such as eZine Articles, Digg, Reddit, etc. (if even only your best articles), use a pinging service (such as PingMyBlog.com -- there are others, too), and work on building a network by commenting on other blogs that are similar to yours. This not only helps you expand your blog's reach, but also gets your URL out there for Google to crawl and index, helping your search ranking.

There are so many tricks.. try reading back through older posts here on Bloggeries and you'll find lots of great advice on the subject.

Thankyou, That was actually helpful

Since my blog is about Life experiences and just logs about my life, I need to be able to find some more bloggers that are like me and post about what happens in there life, though with the friends that have read my blogs, they've all said it's both well designed and the content is some-what enjoyable to read

If anyone could recommend some blog sites that are like my own genre, I would be more then grateful

Content is the biggest factor in growing an audience. You need three things:

1.) Quality
2.) Quantity (of posts)
3.) Consistency

Maybe sign up with various blog directories (mybloglog, blog catalog, top of blogs, etc...) and do a category search for similar blogs like yours - then go from there...

Before you grow an audience, you need to get an audience. It's a tough road indeed, but here's a few additional things you can do:

Write articles related to your blog. If you have a personal blog then write articles helping people in situations that you've already been through

Join other blogger forums and genuinely engage in the conversations.

Find other blogs like yours and comment on them. You can find an vast selection at Dmoz

Complete basic search engine optimization:

Create a sitemap
Use the all in one SEO plug-in,
Add Google's and Yahoo's verification Meta tag to your blog,
Have search engine friendly URLs

RSS will really help drive traffic to your blog and it is really not difficult to do. Many blogging apps have built in tools to create the feeds, an alternative would be to use a feed creation application like FeedForAll to create the feed.
