I just came across a website that found the ultimate plugin against trolls :

Cave your trolls !

Give trolls what they need the most: attention. Don't kill trolls, but feed them. Yes! Feed them with attention.

How does it work?

When an angry troll enters a forum, he can't believe his eyes. His posting is accepted.

That's sneaky!

Only you and I know that the troll is the only person who can see the improper posting. Other forum users can't see the troll at all. The troll sits in its cave and feels proud. Good for him. And you. Your discussions stay clean.

What will it cost?

Nothing for non-commercial use. But please feel free to donate if you like the plug-ins.

From what I read, for now it's only a Wordpress plugin... but I fund the idea pretty funny !

Theres another plugin where you can assign an image to sit next to a comment, the default ones a little troll :P!

I wish Blogger had more plugins like that... Only thing I miss !

Crazy concept and an even better image. Regardless of exterior this is what most "trolls" look like on the inside .

If a few more trolls come around I'm going to install this. At the moment since don't have a troll epidemic (knock on wood) I just practice the starvation method lol.

I actually found the website through a French newspaper (can't source it, it was last week...). I was surprised to read the comments : a lot of readers complained it was like censorship !

To me, it was just a funny way to deal with trolls...

The ones complaining were probably trolls!

Although I believe in freedom of speech, I also believe in my right to have my blog be what I want it to be. If someone wants to say something that does not fit in with my vision for my blog, they are free to get their own blog. After all there are plenty of free hosts for blogs. I believe people should be free to speak their minds, but I reserve the right to monitor what gets said inside my "home".

On my blog "KnotGypsy's Journey of Creation" I don't really have a problem with trolls - no controversy to stir up there.

But, I do have an anonymous blog that can sometimes be controversial, so I have posted rules for commenting. I allow disagreement, but no personal attacks. If someone does not like it, they can go elsewhere.
