This also depends on what "your" definition of a high quality article is. A high quality article for my main blog might take 6 - 10 hours to make. Maybe even 24 - 48 hours. If we are talking about a multipart article, maybe 48 - 72+ hours. This includes drive time to the video location. Taking pictures, filming the video, the drive back home, editing the pictures and videos. I consider a "high quality article" one that uses text, images and a video. And since I make all of my own content, its takes longer. |

Anything from 1 to 4 hours. Entries on my political blog take longer than on my M&A and valuation blog, since I use things that happen in the course of business for the M&A blog and so don't spend as much time doing research or thinking about what to include. I enjoy the political blog more, but if you are looking for the ability to post quickly I'd suggest choosing a topic that relates to your job or life more directly.

Some of my book reviews take days to write, especially if they are on a long classic book that requires critical analysis. You can't expect to whip out a high quality article really fast. It takes time.

If I'm working on really solid original and witty content with formatting, research, links, and graphics? 6-12 hours maybe. It can be very time consuming. I always marvel at bloggers who claim it takes them 15 minutes to make post! It takes me longer than that to write a good title |

Prose wise, I would say maybe 3 hours from conception to finish. If we are talking content wise, it could take a day, or a few days just to look up and verify sources and material.

Everyone is different, some think slower, some think faster, some criticize more then others. If you want practice, maybe you could try to time yourself on writing a better article. Only allow yourself a certain amount of time to write it.

I really don't even know any more. It's hard to judge because it's been a while since I've written anything I would consider "high quality" and when I was doing that before...sometimes it'd be broken up over several days with many interruptions, etc.
