Default Please Help!

My blog has not recieved any traffic from google for 3 days and i can,t figure out why. The site still lists for the keywords i use and my sitemap shows that 45 of the 47 pages are indexed. When i made my last post i pinged google using the www prefix which i normaly don,t do, could this have caused a problem? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I can't say for sure, but try doing what you normally do. Your site is awfully loaded down with ads though. People might not show up because of that.

Did you check your Google pagerank? If it has dropped, check your outgoing links. If you have an outgoing link to a site that has been hijacked and downloads malware the pagerank can drop precipitously. Hope that helps.

First tell us what you previous traffic had been like. It if it was just scattered hits and your site is new, then it is reasonable to expect a week or so to go by with not Google Hits.

After all, poetry isn't exactly a topic most people search for. My personal poetry site receives very few Google hits, mostly repeat subscribers etc.

Poetry and writing sites are not keyword rich, not designed for performing well in search engines.

Many thanks for the replies. My pagerank has remained at 3 the same as it was before the problem. I was getting around 400 hits from google, then within 24hrs that dropped to 0, i checked my site is still listed/indexed which it is, but still no visitors from google. most of my pages where returned in the top 10 for certain keywords. Help ! Help !

Are you getting your info from Analytics? If so, maybe try re-installing the tracking code to be safe...

Check for a hidden spam injection attack.... it's often the culprit behind a massive drop in Google traffic like that. If you find one (there are lots of articles online about how to detect it) you'll need to clean it up, then ask Google to recrawl your site.
