When Submitting Your Blog to a Directory - What do You Look For?
I'm always curious what makes someone choose one directory over another and would love to hear your thoughts

I will not say exposure as i have experienced very less traffic via directories listings.
So if i am submitting, i would basically looks for how much SERP values it would add to my submitted site I guess the next generation directories would be able to deliever exposure, but i guess i will be a while |

Wow, NOFOLLOW on a directory. That is just shameful. Those doing that give the entire directory industry a black eye.
Personally I don't get that much traffic from directories either. I look for powerful sites that SE's will put weight on the link from it. Some directories give me more traffic than others but like Kivinar said I use them for SERP's so your choice of anchor text is paramount. Unfortunately I kinda rushed into it and have lots of anchors doing nothing for me... Time to email a few dir owners in the near future.

Those are all things that I looked for as well. Although I don't trust the PS tool so much anymore unfortunately. I really loved it when it first came out and sorta worked.

if you need the link- it is search Status 1.21 once it is installed you will see a @ sign on the bottom toolbar, along with the sites PR, alexa, and compete scores. you just right click on the @ sign and choose to highlight no-follow links- on any page.
