Adding Pictures to my blog- legally

Good info everybody... I'm checking out Zemanta right now - looks pretty neat so far. My dh and have differing opinions on the whole photo thing. He's big on google images... so I've got to get changing some photos now on my site. Do any of you use a light box to take photos? I saw a blog on how to make them, but haven't made one yet. So far, my personal photos on the site definitely look like I took them.... the lighting is just never right.

Most of the images on my blog I took myself but before I got a decent camera I used online images. I always link back so I think it's fair use, especially as I'm not making any money from my blog. I think it was Inkygirl who was complaining about people that use her stuff without permission but I checked with her and she seemed happy with my single use of one of her cartoons to point people her way.

I think it can be a grey area so I try to treat other people's content (text as well as images) as I'd like mine to be treated. I got really cross when a couple of people used my original text from my counselling website without attributing it, but I'd have been happy if they'd just used a link back to me.
