Anyone use Twitter to build web traffic to your blog? I jumped on twitter and registered an account 2 days ago. It seems to work pretty good. Just curious if anyone else uses it. 4 Years now Making a Living on Ebay Last edited by sadiessay-so; March 6th, 2009 at 03:19 PM.. Reason: removed fake signature - please add in UserCP |

Yeah i use twitter to generate some traffic, and like you said it does work pretty good. Its really professional and not as personal as facebook or myspace. That is why i like it.

Twitter is awesome. I have about 12,000 followers and it now drives about 3,000 visits to my site per month. If you know how to use it, it is the best thing around. I spend most of my time on twitter answering questions from people about my travels and talking about places I've been. I never really do any serious "marketing". If you are trying to hard sell stuff and push links down everyone's throat, you will fail. |

I myself have had good luck with digg and Stumble Upon. I have never even seen twitter before is it similar to digg and SU? I like the anonymity of those two facebook and myspace are more personal and want names and photos and such. I like just having a username and avatar as an identifier. Is twitter what I want? Thanks

Yes it is what you want. Much less personal than Facebook and Myspace, and it is a home for professionals or serious folks looking to become professionals through business opportunities, networking, etc.

I have started using twitter but I am not getting a lot of traffic because I don't have a lot many followers. I am not really concentrating on twitter right now but I will do it pretty soon because I need traffic. -------------------------- Mohammad Afaq Free Website Traffic |

What kind of traffic are you getting from twitter? What I mean is, I can get high traffic numbers from StumbleUpon, but they don't stay long, I don't think they read much, and the certainly don't click! I get a much smaller amount of traffic from search engines, but that traffic is interested in my site, and my ads, and is more profitable. Where does Twitter fall in the mix? |

I keep on mentioning this in my blog that social networking sites are a good source of traffic but the traffic you get from social networking sites like Twitter, Digg, stumbleupon etc. are not responsible and they don't click your ads or buy your stuff all the times but they just come up to your site and less then 40% of visitors become your readers and others just go away afterwards. The best thing to do is to get traffic from social networking sites and concentrate on getting more and more back links for higher search engine rankings and getting targeted visitors from forums and other places.
