Can You Sell Your Site out of a Car Trunk?
No, I don’t mean this literally. What I mean is, can you create sucess without spending a lot of money. Have you found a niche and a method of generating traffic to your site with no advertising?

The Web Example
I started a blog years ago on none other than dot mac hosting. I already had dot mac account so it didn’t cost anything to host the site, and the site was all hand coded html. There wasn’t a possibility of making money because dot mac didn’t allow advertising. Having a free host allowed me to test my ability to drive traffic to the site. I was able to find reasonably easy and free ways to drive thousands of visitors to the site. Once I was happy with my success, I was able to get my own domain and have my very own site that made money. If it weren’t for that dot mac site, I would have probably never taken the jump to buy a host and domain name.

The theme in both stories is that both projects used little startup money and where succesful. Both projects, when they were succesful, spent more money and grew larger after they knew they could succeed. When you lower your costs, you lower the pressure and leave the ability to walk away with little loss. The beginning is practice for latter down the line. You are training, learning the ropes of how to get traffic, keep traffic and write articles. Once you do decide to take the jump to more expensive moves, your actions will be justified, and you’ll likely succeed because you’ve show you have already suceeded.
