Let's hear it people; what have you used in the past and what are you currently using? Personally I've used blogger.com and investigated rapidblogs.com. Both are very good free services. Personally I"m partial to wordpress because it is very easy to install, you own all your posts and don't run the risk of having a "glitch" which will lose all your hard work. Furthermore there is so much support and plugins available for wordpress that for me it is a no brainer. If you are somewhat computer savvy and own your own domain I would recommend wordpress. What are your experiences? |

Okay I agree that Wordpress is the best... But I use Blogger and I think I might always do so. I am loyal to Google and Google products, I don't know why so but I am. Maybe because they want so little from me and yet give so much? I don't host the blogs on blogspot.com... it gets transferred FTP to another server. |

I agree wordpress is the best but for those not ready or inclined to buy hosting and set it up themselves blogger is a great choice. I think most people start on blogger and some eventually move while some just stay put because why mess with a good thing? |

if you are serious with blogging. don't use free hosting. try pay hosting. you can get more money by adding more advertising for your blog. also you can customize anything you want.

Also regardless of your topic you don't have to worry about having your account closed and losing all your content. This has turned into the Wordpress is Awesome Thread lol. |

I have to jump on the band wagon, I'm afraid. I use Wordpress for my blog, and love it! I've used Blogger in the past, and it's an easy to use platform, but there's just something about having complete control over everything that appeals to me. Jay |

Jay Note that I don't have any financial interest in JustFree.com, I'm just a fan. |

Hi Jay, Is it safe to assume that justfree.com has lots of ads on your blog? Just curious how they offer it for free. Either way those are always good places but if your serious and have the knowledge wordpress is the way to go. I was hesitant at first as well but it links into technorati so well that why not!? In their FAQ, JustFree.com says they do no place ads on your site. They do have an index.html that gets put onto your site when you first sign up that has ads on it, but you can replace that with your own. And a test Wordpress installation shows no traces of ads in the blog itself. So I'm not entirely sure how they keep it free. Jay |
