Recommendations for WordPress Backup?

I am currently using WordPress on HostGator. What is the best way to backup WP? Do I copy the contests of wp-content and use WP's export?

I have done both, there is a great wordpress backup plug in

I use cron to do backups.

I have a new blog post this week on backing up your whole root with a set schedule using cron.
