I recently switched from Blogger to WordPress and I was wondering if there were ways to control the RSS feed better. My Blogger posts were stolen by a few scrapper sites, so I don't use full rss feeds. However, in WordPress, is there no option to cut the full RSS feed off at the "more" tag? I searched around Google and that's how it used to work (to my understanding), but now the "more" tag doesn't work (the rss feed shows the whole post regardless of the more tag). Are there any workarounds? Thanks in advance |

This should immediately resolve the problem. Also, and assuming you are using your feed elsewhere, try logging into that site and checking for how your feed is displayed, whether it is a summary or otherwise. I'm assuming though that simply changing your WP settings from "Full text" to "Summary" should immediately resolve that problem for you.

Simply put, I still want the user to visit the site, but I want the "preview" in the RSS feed to have photos and links. I hope that clarifies what I mean. |

There's a good plugin floating around that allows one to define "Cut off RSS Feed after X words" Let me know if that would help and I'll track down the exact name of the plugin.

I use Feedburner to supply my RSS feeds. This comes with a whole host of options.
