I meant when it opens in the same window - like if I clicked on someone's link in their sig here and it opened in the same window, I'd hit back, then right click and tell it to open in a new tab because I wouldn't want to navigate away from the forums. Does that make sense? Sorry - I was having a long day at work...

Lmao! Okay, well in that case, now that we're on the same page again, Tab Mix Plus is probably the add-on for you. It lets you customize all sorts of options when it comes to opening tabs: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122 Or if you're using a wheel mouse, your scroll button will do it.

I agree! I prefer opening links in same tab. After all, if visitor wants to leave, how much time will it take to close the tab? "keeping the visitor on own blog......." is really crap idea.

Someone has told me that the links that link back into your blog should open in the same window, and links that do not link back into your blog should open in another window.  I personally do not mind a bunch of windows opened. I just click closed the ones that I am finished with. I am a multitasker anyways, so the more windows open the happier I am.  But others seem to be bothered by it. I am not sure why! So since I want my blog to be welcoming even tho I can't please everyone, I have started having the links that are linked back into my blog open in the same window, and all others don't... at least on my last few posts.  Hopefully that will appease the "I don't want to be bothered using my clicker finger people".  It's good to hear other opinions on this! |
