MemberShip Milestone - 500 Active Members!!!

We finally did it. We hit 500 active members! Modified_Cars is lucky #500!

When I started this forum it was such a long way away. As you can see we have over 1100 members but to have 500 of them that are actively using the forum is just awesome.

As a result I'd like to thank EVERYONE who has helped Bloggeries get to where it is today.

That being said soon I'm going to implement that you need atleast 5 posts to "Show off Your Blog". Too many people are simply showing off their blog and never coming back. I want it to be a good resource but do not want it to turn into some spammy link farm.

Big thanks everyone; next it will be 1000 active members . I have a feeling the next 500 will come faster then the first!

That is hard to get, usually you maybe have 200 active on a 1000 member forum.... that is a high percentage of active members, I must say.

And i think it should be 15 posts.... 5 posts isn't really much....
Okay 15 is a lot.... maybe 10. I think that They- if dedicated to their blog- should actually work for their blog.

Oh ps- lots of my small traffic that i get is coming from bloggeries- Whoot! It does its job

I tried doing the min posts but I had an issue and I think it was a sign. I will make it like that but not until we have 1000 active members . The Show Off Your Blog is very popular and the major reason people join. I'd like this place to be vibrant and really busy before putting in a restriction that could limit growth.

Thing is if we make 5 or 10 posts it's easy to spam your way up to it with "Oh ya" "Really" "That's cool I agree with the poster above" and they add nothing to the conversation. I think 25 is a good number but will wait until this place is so popular that 25 posts is nothing as there will be so many active threads etc.

Another possibilities is you have to post your opinion on 10 different blogs before you can post yours to ensure people will give comments and not just take them and leave.

That is what I"m working on. The 25 posts is a "promotion" system through membership. I'll have to ask JoeyChgo he's a wizard with vBulletin.
