Celtics Vs Lakers - Who's going to Win?!

I think everyone expected the Lakers to come back after losing the first 2 games. Well, we were right. This time, Paul Pierce couldn't score, and Leon Powe once again was a nobody. Kevin Garnet for the most part was useless, but was still better than most of the team. I think we can attribute this to the improved defense of the Lakers. At least Ray Allen can still score.

Now that we have forgotten about Powe, we can focus on Sasha Vujacic. He was shooting balls left and right and making them from just about everywhere. I seemed like he couldn't miss anything. Kobe would be double teamed and throw a pass, Vujacic stored. Vujacic dribbled the ball around and scored. Whatever happened, he scored.

Kobe Bryant was amazing as usual. He pulled up a number of times and hit shots easily. The Celtics tried double-teaming him, but he would just pass it and his teammates would score. Unlike games 1 and 2, Bryant was making the shots, so they had to make him pass or shoot.

The Celtics made a nice run in the thrid quarter, but just cuoldn't get it done in the end. The Lakers were playing very well throughout the game and the Celtics had flashes of previous games. I had some problems with the officiating, but not a big as game 2. The technical fouls were pretty ridiculous, but didn't affect the outcome of the game.

By the way the series has been played out so far, the teams will win at home. If the Lakers can win in Boston, they might be able to get a game 7. I think the series has been good so far and I'm expecting the rest to be just as good or even better.

Dammit! Stupid Lakers... but the best part about the Celtics losing game 5 is the fact that I'm going to game 6 tomorrow night! HELL YEA!!! Time to win at home!

Here's my comments from my blog about game 5. The Constant Cynic: Lakers Win Game Five 103-98

Once again the Celtics were down, but this time, they couldn't pull it out. It was mostly the same stuff as game four except for the part about the Celtics winning. The Lakers came out strong obliterating the Celtics in the first quarter. They came out in the second quarter looking horrible and the Celtics started to make their comeback.

By the third quarter, the Celtics had taken a brief lead. We saw the Lakers start off great, but end with bad defense. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen were going through like water. It looked like the Lakers would blow another huge lead. After a few foul shots and an amazing steal by Kobe Bryant, the Lakers wrapped up the game. The steal by Bryant completely turned around the free-fall.

Pierce was dribbling down the court and Bryant from behind him knocked the ball forward to a teammate who passed to him and he easily got a dunk. It could have been considered a foul, but that's not the point.

For another games, the Lakers were plagued by inconsistent play. Sometimes they are good and other times they look like the Bobcats. They need to have better defense if they want the chance to win another game. Bryant was part of this. He started off making everything, but then missed everything after that. The series so far was unlike what I expected. Instead of an epic series, I saw a lackluster play from both teams that really lacked everything that makes a good series.
