Try adding a link to one of your site's pages in the body of your post, most of the people who steal are to lazy to delete the links. The only bonus is that you build some free links.

yeah indeed.. try make your post complicated. lots of redirects, different sizes, colors, get your site name in it a few times etc

I prefer drawing and quartering, but thats just a personal favorite of mine.

Seriously though, do a whois search on them, and send a Cease and Desist letter to as many methods of contact as possible. You can get stock C&S letters here. I would personally add in a line about them being responsible for notifying you of the removal, and if they haven't done that within the 72 hours stated, start by sending it to their ISP/Hosts and move on from there.

The most serious problem now is the mechanical scrapers. Everyone has had some of their posts stolen by these scrapers. If you think you have not, it is only because you have not yet come across it. Google is going to have to stop penalizing for duplicate content because there is so much out there now.

If an individual plagiarises your content and you find it, it can be pretty easy to shut their site down. You can also sue them for damages. When it is done by a professional with an automated scraping program, it is much harder to get them.

The easiest and most destructive thing you can do for scrapers is report them to any advertisers they have on the site. Fact is they do it for a cheap buck, if they loose their adsense account, then they'll be stuck nowhere.

There is a "corruption" plugin, that garbles your feed to any knwon splog script. See if you can find it, as I can't atm

I believe the great people here had given enough and more awesome ways to combat splogs.

So, apart from that, I tell you, you shouldn't really care that much about them since splogs will never be blogs. True enough.. People will read them for a minute or two, but they will never be as successful as yours.

The whole reason for their existence is that they fly under the radar.

The persons who copy your blog spend less time, anyway.
