I don't know if I agree with the "don't worry about it" line of thought. Having backlinks to a site that is not trustworthy can actually hurt you more than it helps. Google views a link to a page as a "vote" in favor of that page. Do you really want someone that can't be trusted linking to you? Would you link to someone who used sketchy blogging tactics?
I agree with other users who said one of the best things you can do is notify their host and advertisers. Stay on top of things until your content is removed. Last edited by JillianApproved : 05-27-2008 at 07:52 PM. Reason: punctuation! |

LOL... there will always be criminals, does that mean we shouldn't bother trying to catch them? I get that it's a lot of work, but the bottom line is: it's not right. And if you care about the way the content you worked hard to create is being used, then I don't think it's good to sit back and let them get away with it.
Also, with the way things are now, if the duplicate content is up long enough you can get penalized for it. |

I have set my blogs up on feedburner.com and set them up to only to feed a few lines.
This stops a lot of that. If someone has actually copied content, then as the other folk have mentioned before, its time to get serious. I would definitely contact their host about the theft. |
