Wow, if I didn't live it in the last few days, I'd think I was watching a soap opera. One of my best friends was diagnosed with breast/lymphatic cancer, my partner at work passed away unexpectedly, and childhood neighbor died..jimmineez - when it rains it pours.

Trying to understand the un-understandable.... life is short, tell someone today how important they are to you - you may not get another chance.

I've had a few weird days lately as well. I think what it reinforces above all else is that the present is called a "PRESENT" for a reason. The past is the past which you can't change and the future... Well you never know if it's going to ever come as your post above points out.

If something is worth doing, or someone is worth loving... They are worth it today; in fact probably right now!

Also no matter who you are; at times the grass will always look greener. The sooner you realize that you have a great lawn the sooner you can focus on yourself and get things done in life.

I think a lot of people tend to overlook the small things in life and take things for granted. I'm not going to lie, I'm one of those people. We can all walk out today and something terrible could happen to any one of us.

But yes, we should all focus on what's now, today, because you will never know what tomorrow will bring...

And like Alicia Keys say, "I don't wanna forget the present is a gift... and I don't wanna take for granted the time you may have here with me... Cause Lord only knows another day is not really guaranteed..."

Under the same vein... If you want to be someone or do something with your life beyond mediocrity... Now is the time to concentrate that effort so everything you do is towards that goal.

Imagine looking at everything you did and said ... What's the outcome... Where is the pleasure derived from? Upon the act or the aftermath?

In life those who go far in anything whether love or business it's because they do the work and realize the benefits of the aftermath.

Most of us (myself included most of the time) purely think about pleasure in the NOW so we avoid doing things we dislike for future benefits instead do things for immediate benefits without any thought of future benefits / consequences... Imagine if you changed your life around that simple concept!

The irony is no matter how old you are... IF you had started and changed you'd be living in a positive aftermath's world NOW. It's just the pleasure has to get mailed to you so many of us say forget it and go for a quicker (pleasure) alternative.

That is true Rob. And unfortunately, I'm learning that more recently, but at least I'm learning. I think that's part of the reason why I'm a procrastinator, it's because I want to enjoy the pleasure now, but I tend to lose focus on the future.

I hear you. Bottom line is if you're aware of some bad habits you *CAN* start fixing them if you wish. Just being aware puts you ahead of the game.

Though, it's definitely a lot harder said than done to actually go out and start fixing those bad habits or whatever...
