Enjoy them.
Negativity is a response. If your post can generate a response; whether it be an emotion of happiness or glee -- or less attractive emotions like hate and disdain ... it is still getting a reaction out of people. That is powerful.

When words can drive someone to respond to you with negativity, that's something special.

Embrace it.

I have no problem with negative comments. I respond to them like any other comment and try and found out what the negativity is about. Sometimes you learn something which will improve your blog. Controversy can be a good thing.

However, swearing and demeaning content is different than negative comments. This gets erased.

I do embrace it... matter of fact, it seems like the more negative comments I get, the more successful I get. So, I guess I can't complain, right?

I haven't gotten comments like that yet but I plan to keep them if they are't spam or just abusive. Constructive critism is a good thing!

I wrote articles for AOL, and also have my own blogs. It's strange, because the subject I wrote about was a stiff subject for AOL, it was mortgages - but the people there were much more harsh than the people who read my own blogs.

Either way, I appreciated the fact that even though the readership was more harsh on me, it taught me things that "thanks for the nice post" could never teach me. So for that, I think even negative comments can be a good thing. It can also spark a bit of controversy over opinion between the readers as well, which is great. Think of it this way, even negative publicity is good publicity. It sure worked for Paris Hilton!

Hey, I look at it like the more hatas I have, the more I'm stepping in the right direction of success lol. I mean, look at John Chow, he has SSSSSSSOOOOOOOO many hatas but he's VERY successful. So, I hope I get to that point too lol

I got some pretty snazzy negative comment - it wasn't on my blog though!! I put a comment on one of the radio stations blog about St. Patricks Day - my comment read - that St. Patricks Day can give new meaning to it ain't easy being green, in reference to his post about drinking..etc.. this dude has a total attitude, can't imagine he is drawing in many fans..

Here is what he had to say.. I am thinking of posting it on my blog as an image.. what do you guys think?
