Readers can't comment on my blog posts?

Has anyone ever ran into this problem with blogger? I've had readers contact me a few times saying that they can't leave a comment on my posts. From what I've been told, nothing is happening or it is not going through when they comment.

I've asked a few of the readers who have contacted me with this problem to see exactly what is happening but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem in the mean time.

What antispam plugins are you using?
What other comment related plugins are you using?

I had this problem. It was due to wp-spamfree blocking people behind proxies (you can change this behaviour from settings). I also disabled Ajax Comment Reply plugin I was using after this. Everything seems to be ok in my blog now.

I should of mentioned that my blog is on blogger, and I don't have any sort of plugins related to commenting installed.

Looks like I seemed to have fixed the error, I messed around the settings and now the comment box is opening up! Hopefully that'll fix it

I tried out the js-kit plugin once, and one of my usual readers couldn't comment using that plugin.

It had quite good features though, being able to rate comments, and also upload pictures (and add a caption to said picture)

Blogger default comments system in crap! I(and many people) hate popups and the integrated form just does not work with many browsers(my Opera is example!)

Is this on recent posts that they try to comment on or just all posts in general? Did they get an error message at any point? And was there any connection between the various people that complained (like was it all around the same time frame or spread out? same browser maybe?)?

Actually, Ishan is correct. I have the problem on blogger blogs using inline commenting. Although I dislike the popup comment form, at least it works.

With the inline comment form, it seems to work but never posts. Sometimes I'll get the captcha, sometimes I won't. But whatever is causing it, it's on Blogger's end. Because I've tried with IE 6 and 7, Firefox 2 and 3, haven't tried Opera, but that sounds like an issue also.

I think Ishan is correct in recommending substituting Disqus.

I ran across this hotel blog and wasn't sure what to think.

Should I trust it, or do you recommend any other sites?
